Motoring
Having practised mentoring and coaching for a number of years, Jodi Myers has developed “motoring”, her blend of these two approaches. She works with producers, managers and artists, facilitating progress on a journey and opportunities to make new connections en route. She is particularly interested in supporting people at career crossroads or transition into new roles. She has worked with the Clore Leadership Programme, NESTA, the South Bank Centre and the Stage Management Association, as well as numerous individuals.“When preparing for a recruitment process for a leadership role, it pays to see things from a wide range of perspectives. Working with Jodi made all the difference for me – I doubt I would have secured the role without her support and unique insight.”
“Motoring with Jodi has been invaluable in helping me focus on what I want to do, and how best to achieve those goals. Her guidance and huge experience make her the perfect mentor and ally in building a sustainable career in theatre. The motoring sessions are always bespoke, focused, intensive, generous and brilliantly helpful. I've no doubt that Jodi's insight and support played a crucial role in my fulfilling a long-held ambition to become a cultural leader.”
“I came to Jodi feeling that my career was in knots. Over the following months she gradually recharged my confidence and provided me with a clear sense of purpose and direction. She is a fantastic and skilful listener with an emotional sensitivity that crucially, supports you to be open and honest with your dilemmas. There is no question that her observations and suggestions have transformed the direction my career has taken. Her real skill, however, is giving you the framework and confidence to take responsibility for your own development and making valuable connections between seemingly disparate ideas.”
“Experienced people can often help you clarify issues. Jodi Myers is my professional mentor and her advice is perceptive.”
"My coaching sessions with Jodi have allowed me time for reflection on my work, management and leadership style. This has been invaluable to me personally but has also naturally had a positive effect on the staff team in my role as Executive Director. The time spent answering those open but probing questions has been thought provoking but also hugely enjoyable."
"Jodi mentored me for five months, of which three months I spent in placements in Cape Town and Lagos. If it was a face-to-face conversation in London or a Skype call across thousands of miles, Jodi was always there, asking the right question, and ensuring that - whatever the situation I was in - I honed in on the core questions and did not lose focus."
